I just don't get this. You have dealers sending personal flaming emails just because they don't like them. You have service people that don't even know the cars they are working on. You have service claims denied by some dealers, approved by other dealers. You have petty $79 charges when buying a 30k car. You have game playing up the wazoo.

Just what does Acura stand for anymore???
I as a current customer and potential future customer would like to know!!!

it's not acura, it's the dealership. my dealership was the exact same way (actually called me a "liar" about the 2 navi updates they said were free, and told me, "there's no way in HELL you're getting $100, we gave you a good deal" when they actually took my $100 coupon i had from buying from the dealership before...and this was after 2 months of fucking me around).

but i now have a new dealership (park ave)...although it's 2 hours away, but well worth the drive. doesn't matter though, after being in kansas for 4 months, 2 hours is like a drive down the street.

That saying is sooooo 1984. The new saying is... "the customer is always the customer". The customer is rarely right and often times the customer is a f**king moron. But they're still the customer and you still want their money.

Couldn't agree more.....its true, you read on the internet how people wanted to test drive a car, and another person had this issue with a service writer, the salesman tried to rip me off.

All of the above does happen, but the customer can be a big part of the problem as well....Buyers are liars.

For example....there is a thread on another board about a kid running around different car dealerships with his father, just joy riding and test driving cars-or his words "raiding the dealers" (S4 Avant, WRX, RSX, Celica, Corvette, S2000, to name some)-what the F*ck do these cars have in common (besides the RSX/Celica).... he wanted suggestions on what else to go drive.

He also did a review of how he was treated at each dealer....like a restaurant critic- yes there are dealers that are assholes, but then there are good ones that have to deal with dipshits like these.

So, it works both ways.

Forget about it (think Soprano's)...

I've mentioned that saying to everyone from car part vendors to Internet/cable service providers. When I mention that saying to the "lower tier" people in customer service, they generally ignore the comment and then go on the "best defense is a good offence" tactic.

I will say that there still are a few people (in upper management positions) that are trained to recognize "legitimate" complaints from "calm" people and will apologize and offer some compensation for the disgraceful treatment dished-out by their subordinates.

AS A NOTE -- on two occasions with my cable/internet provider (they record their calls), a couple of people got fired when their supervisors heard what they said to me on the phone. (It took a day for justice, but it made my day.)

BTW -- Acura Care will NOT get directly involved in "promises" that dealers make in sales -- I got burned by that NAVI free 2-year issue too. Acura Care said that they would NOT do a thing, and that WOULD NOT GET INVOLVED -- EVER!!!!!! I could tell you more about Acura and dealer policy, but it would take too long and would just piss you off
