Pretty much , but it also prevents the sun roof from rattling and making noises when you have it open.

All it does is look like something is sitting on your roof. There is a dealer fix for the open moon roof vibration..

I don't think he was referring to that vibration, just general noises.

It is pretty much cosmetic, but it also eliminates a lot of wind noise and turbulance. I've driven in identical cars with and without, you can definately tell a difference with, especially over 40mph.....

The visor cuts the noise down with the sunroof open but increases the noise with rear tipped up. I chose to take it off for good. (After the turbulence problem was fixed.)

Does anyone know how to take the moon roof sunshade down? There is something making noise on the top side of the shade that I can't reach and I've tried a vacume but it won't reach. When you open the moon roof a little it pushes the shade back with it as well. Any ideas?

As others have already mentioned, mainly it cuts down on wind noise when the roof is open. Cosmetically it might do something for ya. Incidently its an easy install. Ahmotors sells them.

Here is one reason that no one has mentioned.

When you drive in bright sunlight with the roof open and the sun is at that “perfect” angle, it shines through the top gap of your sunglasses right into your eyes.
The visor prevents this from happening.

Also, if it is raining very lightly, you can drive with the roof halfway open without getting a shower.

I would think no. Ahmotors lists the deflector for the 01-02 CL as costing $49.80. They also list a deflector for the 98-01 Accord @ $63.20. Unless your deflector uses more expensive clamps I'd think the deflectors are not the same.

It makes a big difference in wind noise when you're driving with the sunroof open. I took mine off for a little change at the beginning of winter and during one of our 70 degree winter days I opened the sunroof and noticed a BIG difference. So it's not just cosmetic.

Some of you mentioned a fix for the vibration, was that a recall or something you just need to tell the dealer about. What is the fix that the dealer is doing?
