When i first test drove a CL about 3 years ago I was given a Pimp Daddy Gold CL to try out. In person the color really stands out and grabs your attention. I can remember driving down a residential street and seeing everyone checking out the ride.

For me personally its not my style but it doesn't look "bad" by any means.

I like the PDG, but I don't like the fact that resale value on it is about 2-3K lower then any other color CLS.

I absolutley love it.....If I ever bought a CL-S (which I may soon, you never know) I'd paint it that color, if it wasn't already!

This quote couldn't be further from the truth, 2 to 3 grand because of the color, rediculous.
Check the resale on a CLS in pdg AND YOU WILL SEE THAT IT IS HIGHER, meaning edmunds adds a bonus to the resale because of the gold.
I should know, mine is pdg.

Not a bad color to look at. I think you'd really have to love it to own one. Definitely unique.

I think I'm going to buy the gold one. Had any complaints from the chicks with the color? ;-)

It depends on the buyer.

If they aren't going to DEDUCT for it...they certainly won't ADD for it...unless you have some special mystic-type expensive paint job.

And in this market, you aren't even getting the adds for the real mystic paints...

I miss mine I used to drive it around, and you dont realize your car is such a loud color untill you get out. and then youre like, No wonder everyone was looking at me!

I traded mine in for the six speed. so IMO, the M/T is more of a must have than the sundance gold.

Sundance Gold

It is a love it or hate it color............I know since I bought one. Once I got rid of the stock wheels, which didn't match Sundance Gold well, I love it more. Being one of 900 is cool. Now everyone is trying to copy it-350Z, Civic etc. Plus the paint doesn't chip as easily, I swear. Mine still looks as good as the day I bought it.

own a sdg 01 cls,
first off this car looks great no matter what color! next, owners can improve looks/ handling with inexpensive aftermarket springs(1 1/2"-2' drop). next, owners can further improve looks with multi coat polymer/wax and tire gel kept sqeeky clean. finally nothing beats the appearance of a driver grinnin like mad doing their ride (tunes blastin, optinal)
(consider this, fate could have you backseat on the county bus)

Quick Reply: What does everyone think about the Orange (gold sunrise) color on the 01 CL type S?
