What do you guys think

If acura is replacing all of these faulty trannys with another new tranny with the same defects, why can't we request a new 6 speed tranny instead. Isn't manual trannys cheaper than the automatic anyways. Would this be possible???

Well, if you have a 2001-2002 the interior/firewall/engine compartment are not equipped to handle the manual transmission. It would be a lot of work....

the whole interior would have to be changed for the addition of a clutch pedal, new gauges, removal of VSA button and system on engine intake, different center console for 6 speed shifter with e-break, removal of existing foot e-brake, different engine mounts which may or may not even work with the 2001-2002 3.2 block....and on and on and on..this would not be cheaper, it would cost thousands more in parts and labor...its not just a matter of switching the transmission itself but many other underhood and in-cabin elements.

tranny

Too bad it isn't that easy. It would have been the perfect solution to a bad situation. Oh well.
