For all you mod happy people...what do you do with the stock stuff? I just put in a CAI, and stripped out the stereo...with more mods coming soon. Should I hold on to the stock parts or sell them or what?

There is an entire section of my basement in my house dedicated to "factory car parts".

It's best to keep them if you can. Some people sell their stock parts to make a lil extra $$ for other mods but if you go to sell the car modded, you'll lose $$ then.

Yeah I don't want to have to shop around for factory parts when I eventually trade the car in, but at the same time this junk takes up a lot of room in my condo...

I have them in the box that the modded part came it with a nice label on it. So for example, my Acura air filter is in my CAI box, etc. If I ever sell my car I'll probably take most of the mods off since you really don't get anything extra for them. So I'll sell the car fairly stock and part out the mods.

I've also kept all the stock parts in the boxes that the new mods came in. It’s definitely more convenient this way.

I would just throw away all those nasty stock parts

You won't have to store them or anything. It's much easier that way

When it comes time for me to sell my CLS, my forsale ad will stick out as being the only "100% stock" CLS 6spds (one of 2700) in the used car marketplace a few years down the road

Seriously, keep the stock parts in a safe place like the others have posted. If you do sell your car, you can return it to stock, and put the mods in the blackmarket forum (or on ebay). It really keeps all your options open if you hold on to the parts.

Mine are all sitting in the basement in boxes, just in case. My car's leased, but I'm gonna end up buying it out. But it's not for 100% sure, so I'm holding on to them for now. When I do buy it out, though, I'm gonna sell all of them for more mod money.

i have em in the bassment just in case

but i dont think its worth putting them back on when u sell the car unless u got a supercharger or some thin really expensive

like my headers i payed 375 for, is it really worth my time to take them off, pay like 150, put the other ones back on then try to sell them, i dont think so

i dont ever plan on getting rif of the car anyways

keeping some stock parts around is a good idea in case any aftermarket part fails. they make for spares while you wait for replacements.

My stock parts are in my storage. I'm driving this car into the dirt, but I'm not just gettin' rid of my stock stuff. Never know when I might need it down the road.
