I was wondering what everybody thought of this car? I think it looks pretty good in the Spicy Orange.

I like the black better, the orange is too much. But it looks like a nice little pocket rocket. Supposedly it handles great. But getting only 30hp out of a supercharger is pretty lame.

I thought it had a turbo? And it makes 170 hp right? The first time I saw that I was shaking my head. Yeah almost any Honda will run circles around this car - and I'm talking N/A. A turbocharged 4 cylinder, making 170 hp, in the year 2003... It's just preposterous...

It's a good looking car, I'll give it that much, but I think Mazda made a grave error in the engineering plan for that car. IMO a turbo 4 in 2003 should be making AT LEAST 220 hp, and that is still giving them some leeway. With cars like the Civic Type-R's, S2000, and RSX Type-S running around, it just makes the Mazda's engine setup look so inefficient... like they took some extra 1984-spec 2.0 4's lying around and slapped some turbos on em... just not good.

I will also say I really like the Mazda 6, and the RX-8 is a pretty bold move as well (even though it was touted to have a 9,000, even 10,000 rpm redline... but the production model is 8,000 rpm )...

Yeah, you're right, it's a turbo.

I saw the review for this car this last Sunday on TNN. They didn't like it either.. they said that this car does not give the hardcore drivers the "GO" they look for, at the sametime it's too rough/stiff on ride quality for just any average daily driver. So it's like the worst of both worlds..
