What do they usually do during 30k service? I rather do them myself, or take it to someone who knows what to do.

I'd rather do it at the dealership. Ask them for a list of items they usually do in 30K service for CLS. Then, look into your owner manual and compare with the list. Things you don't want -- cross out.
If you can do things yourself, its a good idea, just keep the receipts.
Make sure you change your tranny fluid. it seems that you can reduce chances of tranny failure if you change fluid often
