No replacement... But rumors have been going on since the CL was discontinued in 2003... that was 3 years ago, and lot of members have moved on to other makes... Shawn S ended 14 years of Acura ownership and bought a C6 for example...

Hopefully Acura will come out with another coupe The coupe market is heating up... The new G37c will be introduced next month, new Bmw 3 series coming out soon, and there's rumors of a IS coupe and new Supra too... Lots of competitiion for an Acura coupe to compete with.

 

i'm going back to nissan. never was huge on honda stuff. i think i only bought this car because i don't see them everyday.

 

I hope to be the first and last owner of my CLS. I know it sounds corny, but I really love how practical this car is.

Yes I will want something new in a few years to become the number one car in my stable and the same as ShawnS I will be looking for something with a V8/V10 and RWD *caugh* used viper *caugh*

 

I wouldnt buy a new acura, since, Acura probably will just use the same messed up transmission. Like they have been doing.

The current gen TLs are fine. As is the tranny in the RL...as there have been no reported issues of flaky gears...

The Accord Coupe

DAngit, I always wanted a CL 6MT but back when I COULD get a car, they have been discontinued for almost a year. -__-.... so I went w/ the next best thing, w/out LSD and the 3.2 powerplant

A 6MT Accord coupe pretty much kills any chance of an Acura coupe unless it happens to be a V8 priced at least $40,000

 

I believe, in the past, I have read threads where people have commented on the look of the RL as similar to the boxy Accord body style.


In reverse, maybe Acura will 'morph' / 'tweak up' and incorporate similar design lines utilized on the new Honda Civic Coupe and make a new unique AWD; 300+ HP; 6-speed Acura CL replacement. You know what I mean?

It would have similarities, but still have a distinctive trademark Acura look.

Well I'm plannin on a new car by then end of 2007 or beginning of 2008...

I've been looking at lexus's cause they have pretty good build quality cars...

 

Better question - What did acura replace the Legend Coupe with?

In 1997 Acura said it would be the new CL,..not.

 

Acura tried to pass the Vigor ( a colossal failure) off as a Legend Coupe replacement ... especially after it became widely obvious that the "CLX" concept coupe was nothing more than an overglorified Accord coupe - otherwise known as the 1st gen CLS.

 

I still love my 1gCL.

 

Yeah, I almost waited to buy an Accord 6mt coupe, but decided to buy my CL instead (in oct 2002)... the 6mt's didn't come out till 2003...
