A friend has a leak in his car, I think it's a body seem, I can get under the car & see a crack along one. I had the same problem in my Chrylser a few years back, & the dealer sealed it with black Urethane sealant. Went on all gooey, then dried like a soft plastic. I was thinking of getting the same for my friends car, but I cannot find it anywhere near me. I tried all the auto stores by me. All I see is silicone sealant in vartious colors, & some high temp stuff. What can I use, & where can I get it?

As long as the surface you are applying it to you can utilize any of the commercially available silicone sealants .Use the clear stuff it is less visible remains soft and is easy to work with .If you have to seal a long stretch of seam try this illy but usable trick .Apply the sealant (clean surface only) then get an ice cube and use it to level the surface .The ice cube will not stick to the silicone this allows you to have a nice even surface after the job is done .

Picked up this clear silicone in a tube with a trigger. Made quick easy, & even work of it.
