What about Canadian Tire?

Does any body have any thoughts about buying CL-s parts from Canadian Tire. I mean parts like bulbs, Tires, Brakes. Has any one had any experience with their products or the products sold there. Let me know.

My sister lived in Canada for 2 years and that was where she always took her car to get stuff. She said it's pretty good. I'm sure you'll be OK for stuff like tires and bulbs. You may pay a bit more for brakes there than if you were to take it to a mechanic.

Why don't you be the first and tell us how it goes. Personally, I wouldn't take my Acura to 'Crappy Tire'. Bulbs and other small things -- no problems ... but brakes, etc ... either dealer or aftermarket shop (IMHO). You live in GTA -- lots of shops out there!

My sister said she took her car to the one on Young Street and Bathurst (sp) in Toronto. She said they were always helpful and did good work. However, they are more expensive than private mechanics. I do agree that you want to find some place good to get brakes done, but for bulbs, wipers, fluids, etc...they will probably do. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all your help. I take your advice and limit my Canadian tire purchases to bulbs and fluids.

Crappy tire also carries Hawk and AEM brake pads but they would be cheaper at Pacific Mall and similar shops.

The one thing that IS good at CT is vibrant performance exhaust products.

If you're going to go for performance exhaust, I'd go with the Comptechs or Greddy.
