What is it?

I just got my car back Thursday from having the transmission replaced. Now when the car is sitting at idle it vibrates. It's not a constant vibration but like a blink. It’s something that you only really feel through the seat or steering wheel. Doesn't happen when the car is in drive. No problems when accelerating or any weird noises. I un did the battery and thought maybe it would reset something but it's still doing it. If it was a motor mount wouldn't they have seen it when they did the transmission?

Oh yeah when I opened the hood I noticed that some idiot leaned on plastic lip by the radiator cap and broke it off.

Thanks for the help in advance

does it do it when you are coming up to a stop? Can you feel it in the brake pedal as well? I think there was a thread somewhere who explained what it is. I dont really remember.

When the car is in drive I don't feel the vibration. It is only when the car is in park. I will take more time tomorrow and see if I can feel it any other time. I normally don't have my foot on the brake when it happens..I will check. When the dealer replaced my battery could that have cause a problem when it reset?

when the tranny is changed, front part of the subframe is removed and the vacuum that goes to the front mount needs to be unplugged. have it checked if it's plugged, and if yes, is the vacuum hose in good condition (hole ?).
you might also have all the mounts checked.

Is this something that a regular mechanic can check? The dealer is over an hour away and it's hard to get there.

Mine used to have a slight vibration at cold start idle, wasn't constant, but you could count 1-2, then it would happen until the engine warmed. I really didn't think anything of it as it went away after the engine was warmed up.

I don't feel anything through the pedals. It happens whether it's cold or hot. I have no clue what it could be.

Could it be a clogged injector? Maybe I should put some injector cleaner in next time I fill up.
