Went to the track and ran 15.2800 STOCK

went to rivercity raceway 1/4 mile track today

78-80 degrees

59% humidity

best run was at 15.2800 at 92.81 mph although my reaction time sucked ass a whopping 1.285

my worst run was my first run at 15.8xxx

my best reaction time was .768

I did a combined of 14 runs and gate shifted on 12 of them

torque breaked all runs

this car can easily dip into the sub 14 sec with just simple mods

i had a half tank of gas and a full trunk

also i ran a whole bunch of 15.3xxx

Was this your first time at the track? If so then don't brake torque and quit gate shifting (they are for experts only). You should have run in SS.

damn, 14 runs? That's insane. A couple of us down here in dallas went to the track tonight also. It was hot as hell, 83 I think, and the humudity was outrageous. If I had to guess, I'd say about 75% humidity. Best I ran was a 14.9, and that was only after I took EVERything out of the car.

best reaction was .771
4 runs, 3 15s, 1 14.967

I've found that torque braking gives me the worst times. Just my 2 cents.
best run ever was a 14.8 stock.

i could have done a lot of things differently

emptied out the trunk

ice down the intake manifold

fill up a quarter tank of gas

taken out all the stuff in the interior

turn off the navi

turn off the radio

and maybe a dozen more things

why is everyone telling me to use sport shift when everyone is gate shifting

this is my 4th time at the track

first time with the cl-s

yes maybe 14.9 is very possible but

I guess for me just knowing that i can run a 15.2 with a half take of gas and a full trunk with 87-89 degree weather makes me feel a lot better than run a partially stripped cl-s with less than 1/8 of gas running a 14.9

remember my best time was a 15.2800 with a 1.285 reaction time

15.2 is about the average time for a CL-S. There are a few out liers there. Prior to my mods, I was running consistent 15.1-15.2 with a best of 15.0 once.

you make it sound like your r/t has something to do with your et...incase you dont know, it doesnt .you could have a 3.285 r/t and still that run would have been a 15.280 ,...the 1/4 mile time doesnt start until the R/T is established...if you knew that, dont take offense, just the way it sounded to me .and alot of people make that same mistake...

What was your 60ft time to get that 15.2..........i went to the track and it was 90 degrees with high humidity and i could only muster a 15.1 with a high 2.3x 60ft time, so in that same weather the best i could probably do would be a 14.9 with a 2.2 60ft time, until it gets cooler here, im sure its hot as hell in Texas too.

I dunno why people are saying use SS

Reaction time has nothing to do with your end time, its only how fast you jump off the line. From the time your break that starting barrier till the time you break the end barrier marks your end time, but I'm sure you already knew that.

I'm sure you can easily run a 14.9 also, your CL just needs to go on a diet. :P

Those are great runs all things considered.
