Went to track........
I went to the track tonight, i didn't do great but got what i was expecting.........low 15's.
I was afraid i wouldn't know how to launch the car, because i never done it before on this car, but on my first run i managed a 2.350 60ft time, though not perfect but good. My best of the night was a 15.183 @92.49mph with a 2.384 60ft time.
Im kinda pissed because i hear of all these people running mid 14's with intake and i can't even get into the 14's..........maybe next time
Track temp was 95 degrees, humidity was around 65% and it was about to rain the whole night, the only place it didn't rain was at the track........so that meant low barometer readings and slower times. I do have pics of my runs and the pic of the temp at 8pm of 95, but that was track temp, air was prob. 88., and i will post the pics tomorrow.
I was talking to a guy with a RSX-S, he said his best stock was a 14.8 at Moroso down south, but tonight on 3 runs he couldn't get in to the 15's!!!!!.............seems to me that even my mph was down from most people too?

No, im not dumb enough to leave trac cont. on........sorry. But if i would of and got a 2.35 60ft time i would be amazed.
It was weird, on my first launch i felt like i bogged it too much, so the rest of the time i gave it more gas off the line, but never got a better 60ft time.
track temp outside: waited for 5 minutes to see if temp would go down

best run: me on right

More gas off the line? lol you weren't flooring it?! Green light, FLOOR IT.

I just installed it like 2 months ago, believe me it wasnt that, it was not getting any air due to the fact that it was hot as hell and the barometer was probably around 27-28 and a high humidity reading.
to the response about flooring it at green: Go to the track and do that yourself, if you are launching any car, you cant just floor it, because you should launch at a certain rpm.......on the cl-s i just launched at 2k, on my GTS it was 5500rpms! If you were to floor it, with your rpms up a litttle on the start then you will just sit and spin your tires...........on my best 60ft time, i revved to 2k rpms and gave it like 1/2 throttle, i bogged a little, so the rest of the night i was trying to give a little more gas, but ended up giving too much gas.

. I find my best 60 Ft times were achieved with "rolling" into the throttle without brake torqueing.

how bout tire pressure??? remember, the hotter it is, the higher the psi u wanna go...stickiness is a tradeoff for speed
weight??? carrying unnecessary weight???
just some suggestions that'll help improve times in general
Thats about what I ran there almost a year ago. I was bone stock. (Still am) I don't ever go but I want to go back. I keep trying to get my friend with his WRX to go. He ran 14.4 there back in January.
Yup, reseted the ECU the first day.........also i removed my spare in the back. I did lower my tire pressure some, i wasn't going to because i know it kills a little top end, but i lowered it to 25psi anyways......
OTown- we should meet up some time to go, the only thing is i really dont want to go back until its cooler out and i have my pullies and headers installed.

Maybe im not launching right.............i sit at the light with the shifter in 1st, rev to 2k rpms at about 1/2 throttle, when the light turns green i let go of the brake and give a little more gas?
Is that right, or should i not rev at all and just floor it off the line? the 2nd way just doesn't sound right.

Yeah, its a lot of fun, though i am kinda thinking that the next time i go i might want to go to another track, like moroso. I hear good things about that track, and i hear nothing but bad things from Bithlo.

You're doing it right. Your 60Ft time is quite good for stock Michelins. When you give it a little more gas, try riding the clutch to maintain the rpm, as you probably have noticed that once the clutch engages, the rpm drops.

Off the line, just floor it man. We aren't aren't talking about Vipers here. If it is up in the 85+ degrees, traction should be no problem for you. If it get cool, yeah, lower the air pressure in the front. I ran in 95+ degrees a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't spin the front tires enough for a good launch, and that is with an intake and headers.
There should be some wheel spin to get you into the upper RPM band as soon as possible. My fastest time stock was with me spinning the front tires all the way through first gear. With an intake I got a 14.6 @ 96.5, on stock rubber.
When there is a lot of heat, the stock miches do a pretty go job of sticking to the pavement. Next time you go to the track, try just flooring it for a few runs and see how it goes.

So you are saying do not rev the engine at all? i should just sit there with the car in 1st and when the light turns green i just plain floor it? wont my rpms be low, atleast if you launch it your rpms are brought up........anyways i agree with FDAO, my 60ft times aren't whats keeping my times down, i had descent traction, it was just probably the track, heat, humidity, and barometer reading.

Aw $%#^#& man, I did not read your sig
!Well, if that's the case, I find that I get the best 60FT and 1/4 mile time with just rolling into the throttle (Relatively quickly) when the 3rd yellow light goes on
. No brake torqueing.
