Well kids, she's gotta go...
Found out today that my tranny is not only leaking from the axle-seal, but the whole tranny case middle gasket is leaking. $1400 to replace the seals and gaskets....i am getting the really bad leak (axle) fixed ($350), and then trading her in tomorrow or sunday for a civic or an accord.
Anyone know a sales person in Sac that'll give me good $$ for the CL??

Maybe you can find an unmodified 1999-2000 Civic Si? Sharp car with 160 horsepower and I think a 7600 rpm redline.
Plus, it should be right around your price range.
Good luck!

my favorite civics of all time - the 99-00 models (especially the SI's... mmhmm..)

Youre right dude, with that much mileage and an auto tranny, its just not worth it to keep it. I had failed to see that you were out-of-warranty.
As for the Civic's, I had a 2000 DX coupe myself, and as biased as this sounds, I think the 99-00 coupes were the nicest ones ever made to date. An unbeaten, unmodified 99-00 Si is a nice quick little car!
Good luck!

You might want to consider a used 04 or 05 Mazda 3.
I just bought one of these for my son. We thought they were much nicer than the Civic. Fun to drive, nice interior. Very sporty looking.

You definately got some good work out of Bessy. Why do you need 2 cars, since you have the Volvo? How about looking at the Maxima's. You should be able to get a 2002 or 2003 for about 13K if you do some looking. I just can never got to a 4 cylinder after driving the CL. ![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Anyways good luck with the new ride.

And yeah, I drove a civic, but between the lack of power and lack of space (I'm a "big" guy), a civic just was not an option

But to answer your question, it will probably be easier and cheaper to crank out more boost out of yours before replacing the turbo to a bigger one. Manual boost controller and upgraded fuel pump comes to mind. An exhaust won't hurt but it will tear away at the stock sound & image of the car. Check out the Volvo boards, I'm sure such a topic's already been beaten to death !!!
