well.....

i finally changed my interior lights. oh my god the difference. i should have done this a long ass time ago. i went ahead and put in the polar m16 in the dome, a bit small but i dont think it will move. for the door and map lights i put in the m4. it was too dark outside so i couldnt put in the m6s in the road lamp.

but my question is which polarg bulb do i use for the vanity mirror lights?

I tried for like a year to replace the vanity bulbs with superwhites. Nobody makes them in that small size, that's why nobody at all has been able to change them out.

i wish u could buy the bundle in 1 shot, like "for $50, u can get 2 of these, 1 of those, etc."...unfortunately u can't...the best yer gonna do is buy the individual 2-bulb sets individually and have it delivered in 1 box, like this...

yeah M2 is super white for the reverse...M15 is the super blue for the reverse, but it's prob not gonna look that great...bulbs for "7440" line work in the reverse..."7443" line work for parking lights in the tails b/c it's a dual filament, 1 filament used for parking lights, while the other filament used for braking...turn signals use "7440" line just like reverse

Ok this for everyone but mostly pertains to Scooter.

We...well most of us know what size bulb goes where. But what I need to know along with some others is what bulbs do what.

I've heard that this bulb gives that effect, that bulb gives more of a bluish tint or that bulb matches perfectly to the HIDs.

So I like others what to know:

what bulb matches perfectly with the HIDs?
what bulbs give off a bluish tint?
what bulbs are the most powerful to put in or fogs?
what bulbs are the brightest for use in the reverse?
what bulbs are best used for turn signals when the lights are
cleared out?
what brand would u recomend for the interiors?

One way that would clarify all this up would be fi it were possible to seperate all the manufactures by color. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't all the manufactures different because of the color that their bulbs give off? If that is true then could u please rate the manufactures by a discription that they are either too bluish, not white enough, or whatever u can think of that would best distinguish them from each other.

Also could u tell me/us what brands we should stick to, good quality, top name brands.

Tnx

ok, where to start...first off, this is my take on the bulb issue...others may feel differently based on their experiences, however i've had a lot of trial and error runs with bulbs, and my references will b to PIAA bulbs since i do most of my comparisons with my current PIAA bulbs...so now that we have a lil background...

1. i have yet to see a bulb that matches our HID's EXACTLY...the closest i've found r the 18watt PIAA 19224's and Polarg M6...Chod and i did a side-by-side comparo of both the PIAA and Polarg bulbs, and our conclusions were the same: there is virtually no difference in color and brightness between the 2 bulbs

2. reference this chart for PIAA bulbs...notice how the different names of the bulbs (i.e. XTreme White, Super White, Plasma BLue) translate to different Kelvin degree temps...this is where the different tints come from...best thing to do is read the description for all bulbs so u can tell where they scale color-wise

3. the 18watt bulbs r pretty much it...cannot find a more powerful wattage bulb that fits...people have cut out the holes a bit more to get more powerful bulbs in, but i don't think u wanna do that

4. i believe 27watts r the highest wattage for the 7440 bulbs, which r the reverse bulbs for us

5. for the front turn signals, the 1157 bulbs work b/c they're dual filament, so the PIAA XTreme White 19228's work here...for the rear turn signals, since u don't need a dual filament bulb and since the rear bulbs are 7440's/7443's, the PIAA XTreme White 19225's work

6. i recommend PIAA since they r well known, r DOT approved, and in my personal experiences, have lasted the longest

there r many smaller companies that have similar bulbs with a blue covering on it, but u dunno where on the Kelvin scale the color lies, so it's a gamble...this is why i find the PIAA bulbs with the classification scale to b most helpful

i hope this helps clear some things out...if anything's confusing to u, feel free to AIM me (ScooterKin) after 7PM in the evenings or call my cell (PM me for #)
