weird problem

i have a 2001 cls and just started having a problem with the powering gowing off in the car completely when i turn the ignition to start the car. The power definitely cuts out completely because the radio needs resetting everytime it happens. It seems to happen most after the car has sat overnight, and it usually comes back if i go outside and manually lock and unlock the doors. I tested the battery and it is fine. Anyone else have this problem?
thanks

it might not be the battery itself..........but it might be the battery connection! I had a period of time where the negative terminal connection on the battery would slip off....thus causing the loss of electrical power.

Good Luck

It was not on a CL, but once I had a very elusive battery cable problem - mystified lots of mechanics.

The loose connection was at the other end away from the battery. Hard to see and hard to get at.

Remove your battery terminals, and clean them if there is any corrosion. Coke or Pepsi should do the trick. Just make sure you unhook the positive terminal.

Clean the terminals. The same thing happened to me, however, my battery was dead, and changing it out solved the problem.

oh...so I guess I wasn't the only one having issues with the negative terminal. The car was doing exactly what he said above, and if I pop the hood and tap on the negative terminal, it would be all good.

Than the mechanic did an oil change on my car and fixed it for me.
