Weird Light Problem

My wife came home yesterday and told me I needed to turn the lights off on my car. I thought hmmm, I didn't have the lights on, what's up with that. I go out to the garage and sure enough they are on but the left light is flashing. Bare in mind that this is the headlight not the turn signal. I then get in my car and sure enough as I thought the lights were not turned on. I turn the light switch to on and back off and they go off. The lights seem fine now. Has anybody had this happen before?

I have had my 2000 TL for over 3& a half years now. I use my headlights all the time since day one of ownership since HONDA/ACURA did not put in daytime running lights for our U.S. model cars. About 2 years ago I turned on the lights as normal in the daytime & notice the drivers side out when I pulled up behind another car & could see no reflection from that light. When I checked for sure after driving aways it was out. I turned them OFF & then back ON & that light powered back up. I have not had anymore problems in way over2 years & I use them all the time when driving.

You threw a valve and that is causing you lights to go out, your car is SCREWED!!!! No I'm just playing... obviuosly. Sounds like a problem with the capacitor or the ballast. It is probably getting to hot and shutting itself off. They boost the voltage like 200times to get around 25000 volts, thats why it says do not mess with can result in death..It could be that you are grounding out, it also could be that the gauge wire was estimated too small, or it could be the heat issue from the ballast. I would say take it to the dealership and get them to fix. On the Upside of a disaster, if you happened to crash, and you could indentify the light as the reason you'd have a New NSX and a FERRARI and probably whatever else you wanted courtesy of ACURA
