Weird Computer Faulting
This is the first time ive seen something like this happen. Basically, i was just enjoying the cool air
, and after about 10 minutes, while driving calmly, the computer decides to trip out on me.
All the lights came on, Maint., Check Engine, airbag, and even D5 flashed. This is what happened when the tranny gave out the first time, but the tranny is running great and was doing fine when the lights came on.
The lights came on, all gauges also went screwy, and a second later everything went back to normal. Drivability however was never compromised throughout the entire thing. My guess is that the computer read an accidental faulure code, and then when it realized everything is fine, it just came back to normal.
Has anyone else ever experienced a computer cough up like this? Weird!!

Either there is an electrical grounding problem (do you have a grounding kit), or the computer threw a fault code which has to be read at the dealer. I dont think anyone could guess which code was thrown.

anyways, it hasnt happened since and the car is running great. how long will the code be stored for. i dont have a grounding kit, so im guessing its just a faulty code thrown out.
i did at about 2-3 WOT before this happened, so that might of contributed to it. my gs has stalled completely twice in 30 mins. after doing a few WOT, waiting in traffic idleing. Hasnt happened ever since so that was probably just a one time thing.
Ill just hold out until it happens again, or if i notice anything else screwy.

It was an EMP testing site. They are the same folks using microwave energy, etc to screw-up electronic gear. Brought to you by the same folks that are cooking up things like this:

Car electronics are very sensitive to high-powered microwaves and pulses. Even a funky ground combined with some strange atmospherics can make for a one-time glitch.
