weird clicking noise when shifting?!?!brake light remains on?!?!

I own an 2001 cl-p. And whenever I shift from reverse to drive or vice versa, it frequently makes a very noticable clicking noise after a 1-2 second delay after the gear is in place. What is that? And also even after I release the brake, the brake indication light still lites up. What's going on? And also my car has a little over 75000 miles now. I always change the oil on time, but that's about all I do. I really don't know that much about mechanics so what are the really essential things to get checked up at this point in time? Transmission, brakes? What else? Should I just take it to Acura? Anything will help. Thanks.

Reverse: shift fork? Brake light: low fluid? and search, search, search

The clicking noise from R-to-Dx (drive 1-5) and Dx-to-R is normal and is a result of a shift fork moving. If it has gotten noisier, then I don't know what to tell you other than to get the car into the dealer…

The brake light can stay on for a number of reasons -- and the most common reason is low brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.

The search engine is your friend.
