Seating position in the Taurus has only ONE flaw. And it's got nothing to do with the seat. The left foot rest pedal is placed way too high up (close to the driver that is). And that's due to the huge footwell.

On the contrary, I LOVE how the CLS's foot rest is placed so deep in there. It feels naturally comfortable to me.

Taurus engineers might blame the suspensio setup, but our CLS uses double wishbones on the front so no excuses there. Cant get a more space-hog type of suspension than a double wishbone type. So kudos to Acura on this.

Yes and no.

See it's one thing to be isolated by the road and it's another to have control to a certain extend. And I am talking about both control of the suspension and the steering. They go together. Meaning, have enough control so that the car does not change directions (even slight ones accumulate to the point where you have to keep correcting with the steering) on the road.

Lexus is good example. Driving an LS or even the new ES is the ultimate example of how isolated a car can get from the road while having very good control. Of course I am not expecting the Taurus to ride like a Lexus, I am just bringing an extreme example to show you what I mean by control and over-compensation and corrective action.

I think that the Taurus (when this last gen. came out at least), had the best looking dashboard in the category, one of the most qualitative ones and from a design perspective it's one of the best even today. Quality now is just good, it used to be very good before the new Camry and Accord came out.

Thanks. Though I dont think you can buy a new 2003 Max anymore. Of course there must be tons of them used out there.

I think you've just found a new monthly mag. Call it rental car review,,, a lot of us travelers get stuck in these things,,, My Avis plan gets me a Buick LaSabre when I'm at San Fran. Try one of these boats for a week. I pretend I'm really old or a cop.

That's the 04 with the 265HP engine right? I totally believe those numbers. What kind of tires does it wear?

I have had Lasabres before. The highlight there is the torquey engine. When I looked at the peak HP, I could not believe how much lower it was as compared to how it felt.
