1 month...?? why is that, i thought the dealer waxes your car when they give it to you.. cuz i had a little wax build up on some edges from the wax. So i striped the wax with dawn and waxed the car myself.

You can do it right away. Back in the day you needed to let the paint "cure" before waxing it, but not any more. Read this topic for more info (scroll about half-way down for my question about how long to wait)....

You can do it right away.
One good thingto do is to apply a sealer first and then the wax.
Meguire's has some good products for doing this.

I just got my car repainted and they told me i had to wait 6 months before waxing. Is this not true then?

No more scratches thanks to the dumbass who walked on my car and had to pay to have it repainted.

This is different than the factory paint.
In this case I'd follow their directions, even though they are probably playing it safe by telling you 6 months.

4-6 weeks to wax, but you can wash almost immediately. However, make sure you DO NOT sign and agreement that you are satisfied with the work until AFTER you can wash and wax it. The agreement you sign becomes solid after 30 days in some states and 90 in others. That means that when they say don't wash it or touch t, what they REALLY mean is that we did a shitty job and don't want you to see it until it is too late. That's why the thing is all dusty and dirty..Yeah right.

They can rinse the thing off with water right there, and allow you to feel the paint to check for dust and imperfections. The dealer filled in two little license plate holes on my new CL and they had to repaint the whole bumper. They did a lousy job on it and have to re-do it..My answer..on a BRAND NEW CAR that I ordered, replace it and don't keep f**king with me.Other than that, it's a dream to own car that gives a lot for what I paid...
