Not quite true. The CL is an ULEV.

If one of your dummy lights are on, your car will definately not pass emissions.

Upgrading the catback on a CL-S will give you only a 3-5hp gain. If your looking for a good sounding exhaust, Comptech is the way to go. The best sounding exhaust on this car you can get. Quiet but low and aggressive. no droning.

You can pass emissions with all that as long as the high flow cat will not set off the oxygen sensor.

oh yea just so you after you add headers and intake it will change the sound some. i had headers and intake first when i added the hks exhaust it made the tone of my car deeper. which i love its a nice deep tone not ricey and not too aggressive like a mustang its just right in the middle.

Well I have a question. My girl has a 2001 CL-S auto. All of the sites say that the Tanabe is only for 02's and 03's. Will it still work on her car or no? If not then what exhaust will work on her car?

cat backs of course sound better then axle backs.
Get XS headers or DC sports headers over OBX headers. XS headers are good buck for the bang but you need to switch out the gasket and bolts. DC headers if you need the CARB number on them.

Is the CL-S LEV then? I just remember the CL-S is more polluting.

Don't quote me on that. I'd do some research to find out.

Yeah its LEV
http://www.hondanews.com/categories/...7?archive=2003
The CL-P in Cali is ULEV however.

I have some HKS axlebacks waiting on me to put on as well as some stock CLS mufflers, im curious how the HKS mufflers will sound with larger piping and no cat, or at the very least a high flow cat.

One of the vendors is probably going to be making a custom exhaust for the 2nd gen TL (he has alrady done it for the 3rd gen), im sure if someone were to talk to him he could do the small modifications necessary to fit the CL and possibly get a group buy going on that??

First one, the exhaust manifold. you will need 2 of those.
You can get them at your local dealer if you wish.
