Warranty still covered?

Hi All,

Quick Question, If I purchase a 01 CL from a dealer other than an Acura dealer, am I still covered with the 7/100,000 extended warranty?

There is a great deal on an 01 at a local nissan dealer and I don't want to pass it up!

thanks

i am going to say prob not. it would have to be purchased thru acura to get the certification. i don't know if anyone else on the board knows if it had the 7yr/100k warranty before does that carry over if sold at a non acura dealership??
and can it be taken to acura to get the warranty, i am thinking yes on that part

Yeah, that is what I meant, the tranny.

The tranny is my biggest concern. If the tranny is covered till 100,000k no matter where I buy the car, then I will be satisfied.

Thanks

THanks for the number!

PS, I went to a local "award winning" acura dealer and saw a 01 White CL with 40,000mi and they wanted $20k just cause it was certified.

He would not budge with the price bacuse it was certified. Is that BS?

There are tons of other dealers selling CL's with less milage for about 16-17k. He didn't care.

Ya, its tuff to budge when they are "Honda/Acura Certified"... My sis just bought a 01 V6 Accord, and since it was "Silver Certified" they would only go down $500.....So you should be able to knock the price down at least a cpl hundred.....BUT, if you really love the car...then even if they dont budge....you should still be happy with the CL...I love my car, and so do MOST of the others here...you wont be disappointed....
PS - Is it a TYPE-S or Premium?, I personally love the white color on the CL with parchment interior....

Thats what it was! White on Parchment! It was beautiful.

It was a premium, but still nice. I'll take either. I am guessing type-s is a big more expensive on insurance... no?

No change in insurance, only change is when you go to a sports car like a vette, stang or camaro I believe. The cls is not considered a sports car. My insurance actually went down when I went from a 01 maxima to a 01 cls.

I argued with the finance manager for an hour explaining why I felt the price was still too high, but she wouldn't budge.

I may back out of this one, but I can't find anything below 17900 around here..

For $17,9 - I'd take the 5K more miles on that CL-S. That CL-P on that page is $17,5 with 5K less miles than that one you posted above. I'd push for $16,9 for that CL-P.

never pay for prep. 549$ for what ?? waxing? decline that and you have saved 549. also if you go thru acura they may still have the 4.9% financing on the used certified as long as yer credit is good and it seems ok if the other place was to give you 8.49%

if you go with the 20,300@8.49 416.39 per month
acura 20,300@ 4.9% 382.16

and you should be able to find a clp for about 17-18K
