Warranty questions....

I have a questions concerning warranty;

I believe Acura has an extended warranty for 5 year/100k, but the other option is to go for a third party (Olympicare was one of the names i've heard for 6 year/100k). Does anyone have recommendations, or experiences with either one?

I am knocking on the door for the end of the factory warranty, and the car is already in the shop for a second transmission. I have an extremely bad feeling that this may not be the last one, so need to either get rid of the car, or get the extended warranty. I love the car, and I would take a serious hit if I trade the car in and get another one (and more than likely not going to be an Acura unless they can do something really good for me). I checked on KBB and my car w/ 50k in Excellent condition is being appraised at 18k (my heart dropped when I saw that).

I went with the 5/100k $0 deductable Acura Warranty myself, but I'm pretty sure I could've gone up to the 7/100k through Acura.

I did a little bit of research on the third party warranties and I noticed that they were pretty good, but you're still better with Acura. The one I checked (can't remember the name) was only $70 cheaper on the 5/100k, so I bought it through the dealer. Some of the 3rd party ones have more restrictions then the Acura ones, so make sure you read the fine print before you get anything. Good luck!!

I just bought a used 2001 CL-S with 19k miles and they quoted me $915 for a $0 deductible 7yr. 75k. Every other dealer in my area (NY) wants $1600 seems too good to be true. Anybody else have any experience with them. Also they offer 0% financing.

No actually bought my car in CT.

Found them doing a search on Yahoo under Acura warranty. They have a site where you can get a quote. So I figured why not try it. Haven't bought the extended warranty yet. Warranty is good at any dealer though, so why not buy it from whoever offers it cheaper.
