What does the Acura 4yrs/50k miles warranty covers? Does it cover any paint defects within the the first year or even worst within the 2months of purchase?

This is my dilemma. I have a CL-S in white and my bumpers have a ridge that the paint seem to be cracking/fading or John Doe at the paint line at the factory fell a sleep and forgot to completely paint the bumper. The ridge can be seen as you get close to the fenderwells and you can see the black plastic. Is this problem covered under this warranty?


My car is less than two months old and it has 1506 miles on it.

The warranty would cover a paint defect if it was done in the factory. Just take it to the dealer ASAP. The longer you wait the more problem you'll have since paint is affected by maany outside factors. Let us know what happens.

 

ahhhh, someone else has the ridge!! excellent, so i'm not alone. my ridge is on the back part of the bumper, right by the license plate. it's a long line going straight up and down, and depending on what angle u look at it, u may miss it, but of course, only the most anal will notice it does look like after a while, the paint will crack on that ridge, and then it'll b too late to fix. i'll ask since it's time for my next check-up.

perhaps i can convince them to replace my bumper since i got some ice scuff marks on the underside

Well guys,
Iam somewhat dissapointed with the other 73 people that looked at the post but no answer. To the two guys that responded this is what has occured to date. I called Acura of America CS center and I was told to contac my nearest dealer which is 2.5 hrs away. I called the dealer and they told me that if it is a factory defect and once the DSM sees the car on 6/28/01 and agrees to my complaint that most likely I would get new bumpers or repaint the bumpers.

What would be better repaint the bumpers or get new one? My car has less than 3 months and less than 1500 miles.

New would be preferrable. Are the new bumpers factory painted???
