Walked away from a modded RSX-S

Saturday after dropping my girlfriend off I spot this clean black RSX-S with exhuast and rims. He pulls up next to me and paces me for a minute. Finally after playing we line up at around 20 but he decides to jump the start and takes off, I hear the growl of his intake and imediately give chase. I was in 2nd gear SS and by 40 I had already passed him but when I was about to shift to 3rd I banged it off the rev limiter But to my surprise I kept pulling and by 100 I was a good 2 to 3 cars on him. We slowed down this time we went at from about 50 I was simply amazed at the way I pulled away with ease his modded RSX-S was no match for me at any speed. The guy was cool and he pulled up next to me and gave me a thumbs up. The funny thing about it is that I was running 87 octane and still walked away with ease.

Good kill. Not to cast aspersions, but are you certain it was an RSX-S and not the RSX? I've driven the RSX-S and I'd say its quicker than the stock DC5 ITR. Not that you shouldnt be able to beat the RSX-S but, it should be closer than 2-3 car lengths @ 100mph. just my $.02.

id say our (TL/CLs) cars are MUCH faster than the RSX-S or ITR. i've got 2 friends /w stock in both. 15.4 lowest 1/4 times for both. i ran 14.9 /w only an intake. we would easily handle an RSX-S from a stop and especially a roll.

Yeah but I saw the car from behind and it had the Type S logo...not that it means much. But if it had been a base RSX it would have been much worse since they have basically the same performance that a Civic SI has.

the most ive beaten an RSX-S(just CAI) was 4 cars at the track... from a roll it was easily 6-8 cars. so im sure a modded one could be in the 2-3 car range from a stop and 3-6 car range on a roll. Now one that got everything on it should be able to beat me from a stop but from a roll i think it will be neck to neck.

ya an rsx-s with all the boltons-honda data would be a challenge either way... but if the cls-6 had aem and comptech headers i think we would still own the rsx-s wit all teh goodies and honda data

just dont toy around with DC2 ITR's. with the right bolt on's they will run mid 13's easily. all they need is i/h/e hondata and a good driver. i've also seen a Rsx-s 6sp with intake and hondata running 14.2 at 100

U sure about that?

Average RSX-S with I/H/E/P/Hondata run mid 13s and CLS-6 with i/H can beat that?

My friend's RSX-S with I/H/E/P/Straight pipe ran 13.9 -14.2 consistantly.
