Is VSA always ON?

I read the manual and it says VSA is on when the car is started and the light comes on when VSA is engaged. This is confusing to me. If I press VSA Off button, the light is ON all the time. Does that mean VSA is on or off?

I tried to turn the corners hard and brake hard to see if VSA light will come on but the light never comes on. Am I not driving crazy enough?

If the VSA [!] light is constantly on (you pushed the button) that means it is off.

And yeah you weren't driving crazy enough. From what I understand about it you have to be about to go out of control before it does anything. I could be wrong though.

Usually traction (VSA) comes on for me when I pull out from a stop too hard.. I don't think it has ever come on for bends or from a roll.

The Acura Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system enhances driver control by adding lateral control to the standard Traction Control System (TCS) and Antilock Braking System (ABS). This vehicle stability innovation is designed to assist the driver in maintaining control during cornering, acceleration and sudden collision-avoidance maneuvers by managing the braking and throttle systems. The Acura VSA system has been specifically tuned to aid in the control of a front-wheel drive vehicle.

It will flash internittently if you are in a corner and a little too fast.... it will intercede and flash while it does it.

It saved my ass last week when it snowed up here. I was leaving my friend's house after installing some shifter bushings on a buddy's car, and as I was leaving the subdivision, I had to make a left turn to get on the major road. I usually take this turn (90 degrees, wide enough) at about 30-40. But I took it at about 20 that night because of the snow and ice on the road. I still slid out. VSA light blinked and the car was under control in an instant. Thank God, because the rear right wheel was heading straight for a curb.

I've only been able to activate the VSA from a roll when I floored it while going about 30-40, and there was snow on the road.

especially when it's wet, just floor it, you will see, as soon as it starts spinning it will go slower as if you braked a little.
In a corner, the best way is to try in an highway entrance where you have a long curve, just go faster and faster and at one point you'll see, you won't be able to go faster, even if you floor it, it will stay at the same speed... you know it's at the limit and the system is on.
