VSA on all the time...or not?

Maybe a newb question but....Out of curiousity, do people leave the VSA on during daily driving or do you always keep it off?

It only robs you of power when the wheels are spinning, right? The dealership (suprise) said to just leave it on but obviously when you want to get a good launch at a light then you need it off...so, are there real advantages to leaving it on besides getting better tire wear or something? Maybe people leave it on so they don't look at that little yellow exclamation point dash light?

sorry, the only dumb question is the one you just asked...I mean the one that you DIDN'T ask, right?

i usually leave it normal, it sometimes helps to turn it off in the snow though

Yeah, that is what the dealership said, "we only take it off in the snow when we are moving cars"...I wasn't sure if it was a subtle thing like the AC that will sap some power and you won't really know it is doing it. Since the CL has "Auto" for the climate control and you don't really know when the AC is sapping your power. Haven't noticed a real drop in power with the AC on with the CL since it is a bigger engine but with my Prelude and Civic, when the AC was on...you notice a power loss.

Odd, I have always done better in the snow with VSA on...it made starting out a tad easier, but then I learned how to modulate throttle from drving an RWD during the winter here, and I have only had VSA kick in rarely when I was driving in the snow.

I think that the idea behind part of VSA is when a wheel is spinning, it cuts the power or applies the brakes until that wheel stops spinning or gets traction. So in the snow it is possible that if you can't get traction that the car could completely stop the wheels.

You swtiched from RWD or FWD?
