VSA??

I keep hearing about turning off the VSA whenever you race. What is it, where is it, and what does it do??

The button is located right above the cruise control button, left on the steering wheel, but on the dash.

VSA = Vehicle Stability Assist

It provides throttle control, fuel control, and 2-channel brake control utilizing yaw, lateral g, speed and steering sensors for traction control and stability enhancement.

People shut it off when racing so that the computer does not interfere with their driving input. I personally only shut it off for 1/4 mile runs at the track so that it doesn't cut the throttle when i spin the tires on the green light.

Hope it helps, i'd just leave it on all the time if i don't race.

I disagree.. If you know the car will be sliding, and you want to control it yourself then you would turn the VSA off..

Well I was referring to legal races, ie: 1/4 miles at the track. In that case, you MUST turn off the VSA, otherwise the throttle will be cut by the VSA system, you will bog, and run at 20 second quarter mile.

Who races cops??

I've raced a cop before hehe..well kinda..it sounded like he revved on me so I started to race him, but he would've probably given me a ticket if I won, so I slowed down. It was fun though
