I guess someone in their S40 T5 wanted to see just how fast they are . . or maybe thought they were faster. . . not!

I was expecting a fairly close race as they have the S60s engine in them now. I was wanting to get over in their lane (left of a 3 lane street) I thought I might just jump out their at about 1/4 throttle, but the S40 matched my speed. I wasn't really looking for a race and really just wanted over, so I starting matching their speed. I figured that if they were fast enought I'd just jump behind them, but just incase they started to slow down I was ready to jump in front. Well they matched my speed to 50mph when I finally decided enough and floored it and pulled 2 car lengths by 75mph and easily jumped over.

I checked out their stats and some claim 0-60 in 6.6, (7 sec for auto), so I'm assuming it was an auto because I pulled pretty easily on them once I nailed it. But us mostly stockers need to watch out for the manual as they may give us fits if we don't bring our 'A' game.

I didn't punch it until about 50mph . . . I gave it about 1/4 throttle expecting to jump out there and they were right there beside me . . . I wasn't looking to run them otherwise I would have got on it from the start . . .but from 50mph our cars are pretty responsive.

also, considering they were spooled up more so than from a standing start I expected a better challenge . . .
