Volk Racing LE37K rims on a 2003 CLS Anthracite - how's it look?

Below is a photo of an anthracite CLS with Volk Racing LE37K, 17x7.5 rims. Please note, I copied and pasted a photo of the Volk rim onto a photo of a CLS with stock rims. So please ignore the image distortions. Also, this isn't a picture of my car (I hope the owner doesn't mind), this is a photochop picture.

What do you think?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Possible contender!! I was thinking SSR competitions but the more i look at it the more it takes away from the classy look of the anthracite. However, these volk's look nice!!

America's Tire, in Campbell, CA. They've quoted me the following:

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 225/50ZR17 tires w/lifetime warrantee mounted/balanced on Volk Racing LE37K, 17x7.5 rims:

$3200.00

For $3200, you might as well go for 18s or 19s! But for 17s.... hold onto your money!

for $3200 you could get 18 or 19s like Roleez said. That place seems like a rip off...

The cost of the rims themselves ($3200, minus $1000 for the tires) is about $2200. That's $550 a rim. I've seem them listed for about $575 to $585.00 each. As far as 18 in. rims, don't like that big of a rim.

I have Bronze SE37A's on my Aegean Blue Pearl 6spd. I got them for 499 wheel ( 18x7.5 +48 ). Then the Yokahama Parada Spec 2's ( 225/40 18's WR ) were 151 a tire. I posted pics of them. Will have better pics soon.

What do you think?

Dude IMO when purchasing wheels especially lightweight wheels looks have a lot to do with it but remember your also paying for quality and performance. Volk wheels are awesome I don't know how they fair against SSR maybe even better but when getting lightweight wheels its a lot more than just the look.

by the way that does sound expensive how much do they weigh SSR Comps are 14 lbs. weighed them myself.

IMO buy the SSR GT1 in 17 x 7.5 for $300 a wheel so it will be $1200 total plus shipping and get some allseason tires so you don't have to change them all the time. My recommendation Micheling A/S 235/45 you got 811 revs against 819 revs stock at 40 MPH so its slighty off but more to correct the stock revs cause its off.

or just get these in 17 x 8 they look so similar and only $280 lightweight but I don't know how strong I will say Comptech uses these on their supercharged CL-S

not only that but your going with 17" my favorite size for strength and performance your tire selection is endless. Dude $1200 for GT1 and $1120 for the OZ superleggars sound like a hell of a lot cheaper than $2200 if you want Ill sell you my SSR for $2000 if your that gullible.

Yep in 18" but I don't that car sees any real daily driving thats their test and tune/ show car you wouldn't want any rock chips or dents on a car like that

I've seen those Superleggars crack right at the lip also I asked about my SSR to any wheel place and see what they say. I bet they will say great wheel strong wheel for being lightweight and all.

Damn but I do like those Superleggars on the Anthracite Zapata I see what you mean.

I believe the Racing LE37K, 17x7.5 rims are forged. So this would explain why they are about $550 a rim.

The SSR GT1 are semi-solid forged and weigh a mere 17.5 lbs. and strong as fawk cost only $299 Why pay $550

Agreed. Forged are more $$ However, i think the 550 price is the premium you pay for a rim that not many people purchase. Do i think it's worth it, hell yes I'll take forged thank you

I guess you're right. I thought they were more like $450 per. I was not sure about 18s and was leaning toward 17s but i'm glad i went with the advice from many here and did the 18s, i think they look so much better and my performance is awesome. Good luck, i think the gunmetal looks great on Anthracite !!
