Viper ACR vs Porsche 996 Turbo ( Video )

It is stupid to race at such speed on public roads at 3X speeds of the traffic...

But here is the video: http://myberry19.home.comcast.net/vi..._nurburing.wmv

looks like the viper jumped sometimes and hit the hazards after the porsche shut down IMO

Porsche was faster. nice race, pretty close.

I'd take either one, but if could choose. I'd take the 911.

I have played with 996 Turbos before, not quite like that at 150+ mph (that's stupid).

They are so close in speed on the highway, that it comes down to who jumps who and which driver is better.

The driver in the ACR appeared to have shifted earlier in some cases than he should have.

Anyway, both are very fast......either car is a nice blessing on someone's driveway.

I'm assuming that the Viper was the one with the sweet exhaust sound... it looked great with those black wheels. Awesome vid... those were some crazy SOBs.

Oh stop you stupid hemorrhoid , do you even own a car? old enough to drive?

That Porsche didn't beat shit, one pulled ahead then vice versa...was a very equal footing all said and done.

In cars of basically equal power, if either one jumps ahead by a car length or 2....its hard to catch up.

I'd say the porsche had home field advantage though.

Home field is a bit strong, but if the guy in the Viper actually knew how to drive (shift properly).....it would have been closer. Like I said above, it was a back and forth situation (996 pulled on the Viper at several points, but so did the Viper on the 996).

I have run 996 TTs at speed, they are very fast, but I haven't had a problem over taking them (torque).

0-60 996 TTs are monsters, that AWD just hooks up.

I wouldn't even bother running one off the line.

Sure, like I said.......its a back and forth race (just watched it again). The guy in the Porsche was definitely trying, its also obvious that the guy in the Viper shut it down early once or twice (don't take that as being passed)- heavy nose dive. The driver probably didn't want to take it past 150.

Nice footage, both of these cars were more or less neck and neck....it just depended on who got the better jump.

Give me either of those cars, and you can have my Acura as well. Use one for spare parts.

seems they were dead even to me. Seems like the only time either really pullled on the other was when the other was in a bad gear or the porshce hadn't reached full boost.

Honestly, I haven't watched the video yet. But if Ben Treynor has an 1100 HP viper and you guys are saying a stock 996 TT pulled on this Viper, than i'm pretty sure it's not him.
