That is cool.....but its true..he still has not enforced his statements of this being true. Hopefully streeteffectz will clear things up.

ok, interesting. my only question would be weather or not the actual navi displays would be able to handle that amount of color/graphics. imho, our displays arent exactly sony wega's.

First off... I don't believe it until I see it.

Second... f*ck buying a kit from someone... if it works go to radio shack and buy the damn equipment yourself for a couple bucks.

I too will wait to see what StreetEffectz has to say... but I am in extreme doubt of this product until then. The screen is only RGB... and I doubt it supports more then 256 colors. Therefore video should look like crap. And Ive never heard of/seen a NTSC to RGB covertor before... but combine that with the crappy display and you have the makings of a really shitty viewing experience.

ALSO... the guy said... "In fact, I recommend setting the brightness in navigation mode then switching over to video." I dont think that could logically work.

Well see.

Just a thought...wouldn't it mess up your Nav system? I mean if you wanted a Nav that could play DVD and video...forgo the 2K option of Navi and buy an Alpine Nav with video inputs. I just think that converting it would create problems for the GPS tracking satellite. But anyway, someone needs to create a program that locates police cars, since they are always have a frequency transmitter...wouldn't that be cool...a bunch of little triangles pop on your screen tracking all the police in the vicinity.

holy shit... I stand corrected.

wonder why that Navi says "Honda Navigation" though. The TL/CL say Acura Navigation...

It still pisses me off that someone is trying to make money off this... I mean... good for him selling a kit... but the instructions should be posted to the forums.

Anyway... good shit... off to radio shack after work

Me Too!! That looks pretty damn good. Better than going out to buy another monitor just for dvds and such, but you're right about how he is trying to make money off that. At least post instructions, then sell to the people that don't want to go buy their own equipment.

That Police localizer I guess can be done. However, It will not track their FM radio TX signal rather I can imagine a system as follows:

Imagine on your car's top and just above the moonroof, below the moonroof visor woould be ideal, that is at the widest-distance-point of the car: 2 small rotating small cones. The cones are basically a very sensitive "direcrtional" microwave antena (same as that of V1, for instance). Those cones are motorozized and rotate at relatively high rate. Now, As they are motorized with a steper motor the incident angle between the car and the directional axis of the car could be easily computed.

Now, whenever a "boggy" start firing his radar gun, each rotorized antena would detect a high pulse of incomming RF energy at the 2 angles could be recorded.

Now since you have the 2 angles, corrected postion of the car at time of detection. Computing the postion of the target is just a trivial task. The only problem is that since the distance between the antenas is relatively small compared to the distance to the target the "resolution" of this system would be low...

This is what I can imagine now....

Any thoughts?

You gotta figure the first person from here to buy the "kit" will make the directions a bit more public. I'm still wondering if the "Honda" navigation system might use a different, better display than ours. Hope not...

Prediction (duh): The first techie that gets their hands on the unit will figure it out very quickly

I wonder if the pictures posted on the TL forum page are with a 256 color panel ('cause it looks ok to me).

Someone here said the CL/CLS Navis were 256 color.

Idea: A collection for the 1st person to install the adapter *and* crash while watching "Ronin" while driving (Oh, I hope not...)

Did I read somewhere that this setup does not work while the vehicle is moving (i.e. only in Park)?

I have a DVD in my laptop which I thought was pretty adequate but after seeing this setup, I'm a bit interested. I wonder if the display suffers from sunlight glare similar to my laptop screen while outside....
