hey guys!
i got a little prob. when engine is running on idle I feel a little vibration, but when I push accelerate a little it disappers.
Any idea what it can be?
01 CLS 26k miles, just bought it, so don't know much about it.

is your heat on too? does this do this when u are coming to a complete stop slowly?

reason i ask, is cause i have the same symptoms with my description above.

 

I can notice it when I'm parked and engine is running. I don't think heat makes any difference, but I'll try tomorrow.

 

Mine has been doing the same, but only when it's cold out. Today, it was mid-30's and didn't do it and it's idling much higher. If it's below freezing, it will idle low and shutter like the car is going to stall.

 

I get the same thing when Im sitting at a light or the car is in park while running. It seems I have only noticed this when the temps dropped. It almost feels like the car electrical system is surging but I dont think it is at all. Nothing is turning on when the vibs are felt and the idle needle doesnt move at all when the vibs occur. Curious to see if others are expierencing what we are or are we just insane

 

i got the same things, idle needle doesn't move. but when i press gas pedal a little it stops vibrating

 

do you guys have oil in the car?

 

i havent changed mine in like 23k miles........j/k every 3k for me. i havent noticed this in warm weather, so this could be cold related. it only happens when my heat is on. i threw a thread up about this, but i still havent brought it in to the dealer.

 

i got the same thing, i brought it to the dealer for some other reasons and while i was there i asked them to check it out and they said that it was because of my intake ... its worse now in winter but im thinking that its just my imagination taking somthing small and thinking its a problem

 

could it be freezing in the gas line? almost sounds as if not enough gas is getting into the engine when idle.

 

Yeah I get the same thing in my car. i swore for weeks it was something wrong with me, but I realized it wasn't but its weird b/c the rpm's dont reflect any variances. I have also had mine og a lil further and seems to shuddler a little like right b4 i pull off or stop, but it will do it only whne it is cold out. I cant stand it it makes me want anew car, b/c i think I am about to have to walk to the nearest destination. Glad to know I am not alone.

I have pics for my TL but not done on the Cl yet still getting things in order all I have for the Cl now is the LV window tint

 

I have the same thing -- vibration / shimmy when I am parked, or at low speed... very, very annoying. I noticed the vibration / shimmy after the daler re-did my tranny -- summertime, so heat was not the issue.

(2001 CL type S).

If anyone knows what causes this, I would really appreciate it.

 

If any of you have intakes, that's probbaly your answer.

The idle does get rougher when a CAI mod is added.

 

I have stock intake. Vibs are killing me!!! During summertime same shit. Can timing be the problem? Anyone got rid of that sh*t?

 

ok guys, here are the possible problem

1.check spark plugs- i use denso iridium
2.check valve- make sure thier clean
3.check injector-add injector cleaner- i use valvoline complete cleaner
4.check oil- i use 5w30 valvoline full synthetic- makes the car run sooth no idle
5.check transmission fluid- i use mobile1 synthetic ATF shift smoothly

I suggest using what I have in my car and give it a try, this will add years and performance to the cl.
