Ventilation air flow question

I noticed something odd the other day with the ventilation system in the car. Actually, I think I've noticed this before but I just never really thought much of it. Whenever I'm in auto mode, I get substantially more air flow out of the side vents (driver and passenger) than the center two vents. If I switch the mode over to use just the dashboard vents, or dashboard and floor vents, it seems to even out.

Is this normal? I looked in the manual but didn't find anything on it.

check the vent "dampers"

My g/f always shuts them off when I'm not looking because she is always real hot or real cold.

It always messes up the airflow in the car.

Why does the "Auto" mode always start out with screen & feet distribution? Is there a way to re-program this?

Ever notice how there is a small amount of air coming out of the vents, that increases if you crack open a window or moon roof>>

Agree with all your points ... (1) need a NSX (2) more flow from side vents than center (3) air flow increases significantly with open window / roof

Also, do your HVAC units make a brely noticeable ticking noise? I can only hear mine with the radio off and very low revs on the tach, like when I'm pulling in and out of te driveway or stuck at a traffic light. Very, very annoying - but normal according to the Acura technicians.
