I know the CL is an Accord based car, but I never thought that an Accord could hang with it. Yesterday evening, I cruising down the highway at about 75 mph. This black accord comes flying up on me and slows right beside. Getting the point, I shift into SS and we start rolling. From 75 to 95, we are dead even.
At 100 I start to gain, and by 110, his nose is at the front of my door. Shut it down at 110, as even on an empty highway, this is getting fast. It was a slick looking car, with big pipes and chromey rims. I figure he had to have some mods under the hood (I'm bone stock still), but also figured that I'd be able to toast him - definately impressed, sligthly humbled

 

sounds like he must have been pretty modded out...there are some turbo applications for the accords...maybe he had that along with headers and shit...who knows, it must have been something serious though...or, maybe the comptech supercharger, thats out now...

 

Turbo's don't have headers. They have downpipes.

 

he must of had alot of mods maybe the bottle because we have that car as well and it's no where near the type s i think the old 50 shot was in the picture that daY!!! EVEN WITH THE HEADER the accord has no chance they run 15.8 stock at 88 to mph 90 mph. a super charger maybe but you would hear it when he got on it.

 

I dont have the Accord, but I have a '97 3.0CL (same engine, simlar weight) running a 75-shot and have no trouble beating stock CL-S's. I have raced CL-S's with i/h/e, and can keep up with them/slightly beat them.

My best run without N2O and just a CAI (but with a 55 lb speaker box and 18s) was 15.86 @ 88 mph.

My best 55-shot was 14.75 @ 94.5 mph (with speaker box, 18s, full tank of gas, very hot and humid day).

My guess for the 75-shot is low 14s @ 100 mph (without speaker box, 1/4 tank of gas, cool/low humidity day, and on 16s).

 

Must have been modded.

I had a run in with a Black Accord coupe several months ago. He sort of kept up with me, but then the dude started driving like a jackass, so i let off and let him pass.

They can keep up, IF they're modded....

 

I beat a modded V6 Accord Coupe with I/H/E from a light. He was close until about 40 then I walked away.

Your competition must have had some mod under the hood. I've played with a few accords..the only one that killed me had that familiar turbo hiss.
