V1/Radar people question
Do you guys "save" other people from getting a ticket? The other day I was flying on the highway and some guy was following me. My V1 goes off and I slow down (not changing lanes) and the guy behind me is like WTF and gets close...but I stay in the lane and slow to about 70 (in a 65 zone)...Cop right around the corner, pulls out and nabs the guy ahead of me. Guy behind me is saved.
Just this morning, same situation, except I pulled over and the two guys following me speed up. Cop around the corner pulls out, but luckily pulls over the guy ahead of me (not the two following me). The two following me braked HARD though!
Do you guys do the "save" or the "screw"? Just wonderin'

I’ve been in those very same scenarios MANY times.
Sometimes the guy behind is smart enough to slow down and sometimes he is not and gets nailed while passing me.
I’ve noticed since I have the remote display in my car and there are no lights seen through the rear window the guy behind is more likely to pass me and get nailed.
On several occasions I’ve also had to brake HARD and hope that the guy behind doesn’t hit me.
Sometimes it’s hard to decide if you want to get smacked from behind or risk a ticket.

I've been in those situations a lot, too and it depends. If I am in the #1 lane and I have to move right in front of someone, I will do so to slow them down.
If someone is racing with me and trying to beat me, they can go ahead and pass and get a ticket. If they are just keeping up with me, I help them out.
If it's one of those long, long warnings with cop 1/2 mile away waiting, I do flash the brake lights repeately to slow folks down. And I get the thumbs up/thank you often because the roads are long, flat, and under-posted here in Kansas (easy to speed) and I always go thru a speed trap 5 mph under to be on the safe side, usually getting passed by other traffic going 5-10mph over posted.
