Maryland, huh?

Pilot Sports are High Performance Summer tires. You should get dedicated snow tires.

I'd get dedicated snows, or at least all seasons, and do it *before* it starts snowing - it'll be like driving on an ice rink if you get stuck somewhere with those tires on and it snows.

NOT SAFE!! The standard Pilots are summer tires they are not for use in snow. You can drive around with them as long as there's no snow however. The cold temps shouldn't effect the tire that much. Might have some traction issues when they are cold, once the tires warm up you should be fine. I was in NYC last Christmas in my car with Toyo T1's. Drove up from FL. I didn't know it would snow. I couldn't drive, skidded all over the place had no traction. Once the streets were clear I was ok. The tires still were ok in the cold.
