Hey, I'm looking to replace a defunct Blitzsafe iPod interface adapter with something that will give me track forward/backward control from the headunit.

Does USA Spec make a compatible unit? ie -> PA11-HON

They list the 01-03 TL on their website but no mention of the CL...just curious if any CL owners have tried this successfully or not..

interesting. it would seem that if it would work with the 01-03 TL it will work with the CL. infact i checked out some of the places that sell it, and it seems like unless its a specific "text on screen" application, they're generally universal.

130 bucks seems like a lot to spend when you could just hit the "next" button on your ipod however.

You are right, it's alot of $ but it's only $104 on one site and I may have fried my Blitzafe .. so it's gonna cost me at least $60 for that. What's another $40? haha .. jk .. not sure if I'll spring for it .. but I would like to know if another CL owner has used it *successfully* before pulling the trigger..

It works well. However, sometimes on my car, it causes the radio to go into error mode. However, the music always plays and when I turn off the car, it usually resets the error message. I use the aux RCA jack built into the unit to run my Sirius Sat Radio set up through the CD system and the music and Howard Stern Sound great like CD quality. I don't use the ipod cable very often except when I go on a road trip. But overall the unit is great. You can control the tracks via the steering wheel controls. Disc 5 is the ipod, and disc 6 is the aux which in my case is Sat Radio. Thumbs up on the unit. Just know that sometimes when hooking in the ipod it causes the radio to go a little loopy, but bear with it, it usually works it out and the ipod or aux input work fine.

Didn't know there was an AUX input in our radios.

does this mean you can run a stand alone screen/DVD combo with our stock headunits?

There isn't. The adapter makes it a aux input. Like your ipod now.

It's been my experience, & others that any of the ipod adapters that claim track control either don't work in the CLS, or work flaky. I tried many. I settled on the blitzsafe ipod adapter & have been happy for 3 years now. I have no problem switching the tracks on the ipod.

The unit plugs into the open CD Changer port on the back of the radio. When installed, pressing the CD button on the head unit, chooses the multi CD built into the radio. Press it again and it goes into multi CD Changer mode but is fooled and inturn goes directly to CD 5 in Changer Mode which is the IPOD Cable. Press disc 6 and it goes to AUX mode of the Hon Adaptor which in my case is what I have my Sirius Sat Radio plugged into. Sirius Radio via the CD system sound, sound premo!

reading the original post more carefully, I can atest that when the IPOD is hooked up to the hon unit, I can go track up only via the button on the steering wheel. Volume control works normal. If you want to track down, you have to do that from the ipod.

Wow, so $50 more for ONLY track up?? Hmm.. guess not
