they "say" they dont make a difference, and they probably dont but they look real pretty and spin pretty dam fast, and they were a hell of a lot lighter than that stock BS...

Well I know the crank pulley weight difference is huge but im wondering how lighter the accessory pullies are. I'll most likely end up getting just the underdrive crank pulley... pretty expensive though at 200~

the crank bolt is the hardest to get off if you can get it off than you dont need to take the car to the shop but unfortunately for me i had to for over 150 bucks so that the shop would take care of all three pulleys. and at least for my accord v6 you have to have an impact wrench with about 1000 lbs of torque and a half in. air line because my torque 800lbs torque wrench could not manage but its on the standard 3/8 in. line

Stock pulley 8.48 pounds on my bathroom scale. UR ud pulley 1 lb in box with packing foam.

Best mod I put on my car thus far. (headers came with the car, so I don't know about that). Go for it, you won't regret it, great bang for the buck .

I believe its low end torque. i read in another thread that you lose low end torque when you install headers, so thats when the pulley comes into play.

hmm... i'm not really sold on the crank pulley yet, what are they like $180? or something?

If its low end torque I get then I'll prolly pass...since that would just further entice me to burn gas that much faster =( and I drive alot and i dont want to burn uneccessary gas

There is a dyno around here somewhere with gains. Better gas mileage as well. Its so nice because the engine jumps up into powerband so much faster.

yea the stock pulleys are made of cast iron and the UR is lightweight aluminum so u can see how that would make a big diff...

my engine goes through RPMs effortlessly and the torque is there...i got my headers and pulleys done at the same time so i really didnt ever feel the loss in torque due to headers so my guess is that the headers and pulleys balanced themselves out...but when i drop gears especiially 3>2 or 2>1 the bitch jumps so i can always feel where the pulleys helps out there

The pulley gains are throughout the entire RPM band. There is no low end loss. The crank pulley should be good for about 7-8 HP. The accessory pulleys will net about 1 hp for each pulley. The gains are mostly in the crank. And it is a great inexpensive mod. You will notice that you climb thru the RPM's a lot quicker htan before.

here's a somewhat recent thread which has long-time owners of the UR crank pulley, naysayers, a knowledgeable vendor and those interested in this. i recommend getting the UR underdrive crank pulley. it is 7 lbs. lighter plus less drag. gains are felt instantly.
