Unverified Routes Question

Mr. Brown left me a present while I was away for Thanksgiving. The new Navigation DVD is here and I'll probably install it this evening.

I've read the reviews here and still have a question:

If you leave 'unverified routes' off will you still get the warning messages?

For most of what I do, I do not think I'll need the unverified routes. The current DVD has all the roads that I travel on as I usually am in a large urban metropolis. Even my home on a tertiary suburban street was listed in the older DVD's database.

Will traveling with the setting 'off' be similar as it is now with the older DVD, or will I get a warning message every time my car passes by an unverified road?

With 'unverified' on the database will just incorporate unverified roads en route to your destination. With it off it will not use them at all. I just leave mine on. If there is an 'unverified' road in the directions to your destination the navi ho will let you know and you'll see a yellow window reading what she is saying. It won't give you a warning everytime just in the beginning and before you use the 'unverified' road.

Great. Just the info I was looking for.

I had visions of that yellow warning box coming up at every turn which would get quite annoying.
