UniChip recommendations

I just acquired a UniChip PnP module with 2 maps.

1. For Intake, headers, and exhaust

2. The other for nitrous oxide w/the above 3.

I own an '01 CL-P as most of you know and the chip is for the CL-S. I already called UniChip and they told me to get it tuned by a local shop because the CL-S has 35 more HP.

Have any of you bought a UniChip and just plugged it in and forget about it or did you guys go down to a local shop that tunes UniChips so you won't have to worry?

Just curious, I plan on getting it tuned this week after I install it.

I did search and I couldn't find anybody with a CL-P that owns one on their car. Mainly CL-S or TL-S is what has been coming up.

I've noticed that the gains aren't huge for a CL-S, but that might be a different story with the CL-P since it's a detuned J series engine.

BTW- I don't post threads unless I know I can't find anything in the forums or on google, yahoo, or any other search engine or if I'm having a day (blonde moments).

Hardly. There are internal differences that give the Type S more horse power and torque than the regular CL such as domed piston which create a higher compression, different cam profile on the exhaust side and different intake port sizes in the heads.

Also, I don't know if the harness will work for your car since the ECUs are different. I'll check out my helms later but I have a feeling you may need to rewire the harness.

I might get to it before you do.

The guy I spoke to at UniChip said that it should just plug right in with no issues. All I need is a tune.
