update to my posts #775 & #797, recieved another updated "D" map chip with less fuel fuel removed in the 5k range and above. installed, did idle relearn and (6) wot runs in both "A" & "B" modes.
results: minor power gain is noticeable thruout rpm band from 2k-7k , however cels (intermittant flashing ) from 6.5k to 7k band only. the other notable item, the vehicle does not "leap" in power at vtech engagement , it is nearly linear in acceleration. then removed chip and harness and did (3)wot runs . no cel's , same pre-chip power with very noticable vtec engagement.
spoke to josh @ unichip, he will pow-wow w/ other tech's and try some other approach to solve.
to be continued.......... (any board mbr suggestions welcome)

Do you know what the code is that is triggering the CEL?

mrsteve,
the codes as follows: po300 mutiple cyl misfire detected, po301 cyl #1 misfire, po302cyl#2 misfire, po303cyl#3 misfire, po304cyl#4 misfire, po305cyl#5 misfire,po306cyl#6 misfire. freeze code: po302cyl#2 misfire detected. pending code: p1399 mfg. specific powertrain trouble code. these are the initial codes detected when i installed the first chip. i have assumed all subsequent codes are cyl misfires. as the cels occur between 6.25k and redline

I'm assuming you are way too lean. Put it on a dyno yet?

mrsteve,
the people at unichip feel the ecu is reading an erroneous crank sensor signal which is read as this misfire code. josh @ unichipstated that the pnp harness module had a capacitor (or resistor?) installed to mask this code in the initial design. thinking my harness was faulty, he tested a new harness and sent to me for install, which i did.
cels still persist

no dyno until i see this problem solved. i will say they have tried numerous solutions and the cels now only occur at 6.5k to 6.6k and above.

Steve: how's the unichip working so far after all these months? Any changes? Still the same? We're about to get our shipment of Unichips over at V6P. Hopefully we won't run into the same problems the CL's have been having. Our test cars seem to run fine and we're about to test an S/C accord v6 w/ CL-S cams next week.

Any advice on what to look for as far as issues? Besides, the pinging, misfires, running lean, etc... So we should all be using 92+ octane?

Thanks.

Dizzy

The chip definitely was not worth the investment. However, if I were going to buy the Unichip, I would buy the blank and take it to a custom tuner. Unichip charges $100 less for the blank and a custom tune costs around $150 - $200.
