U guys think V2.11C Nav will be the last update?

I personally believe that the latest DVD the 2.11C, is the last update that our CL's will ever see. The fact that it took soo long to go from 2.05 to this latest version. Does anyone disagreeeee?

All GPS navigation comes from one basic source. The DVD is probably common to a few Acuras so I doubt it will be the last. People are always finding mistakes and calling them in. I know I have and I don't even have NAVI. I have a portable Garmin Street Pilot.

Acura said 2.11 would be the last update for this generation of Navi systems.

I think it will probably be the last.
I hope I’m wrong, but I’m probably not.
The CL’s DVD based system dates back to the 2000TL I believe.
So that’s nearly 5-years back now.

I’m quite happy with the newest version and I think it will be fine for the next 2-3 years I drive this car.

I guess it WILL suck when these cars start showing up in the used market when they’re 5-6 years old.
Those maps are gone be REALLY outdated by then in areas that have seen lots of road construction.
But that’s the price you pay for buying something old.

Very true, but how cool it would it be in a few years to buy a CL with Nav for $10k or so, when you are 16 or 17. Outdated or not, thats awesome to have what currently mostly older people have.

I think the CL/TL wil be the cheapest used car with Nav, if it currenlty is not.

I believe the cheapest car with navi is the Toyota Matrix.

I don't think it will be the last. They have to compile the data for the newer generation TLs anyway. It can't cost that much to port it to the older database format and at $185 a copy they can pocket some extra cash when the real expense is being paid for by disc sales for the newer gens.

I doubt you'll see any more interface changes (different voice, unverified roads warning, etc), but I can't see it being cost prohibitive to update the POI and road databases until sales start lagging on the discs for the older gens.

I'd bet money that this is the last update for the 2nd Gen CL/TL series Navi ...

Keep in mind this disc is shared between a few vehicles. It's not specific to the CL.

I'm with Shawn S. soon as my CLS hits 100K I'm done with it.
