Twin M3 Kill :) :) :)

I think I just had the race of my lifetime today!!!

Driving on the 101 about an hour ago (like 9:30pm) from Thousand Oaks and two M3's following each other (appeared to be friends... found this out later) came by pretty quick. Anyways... both had exhaust and rims (coupe style.. silver and black). I was going about 65 and they weren't really racing... probably cruising at 75mph. I couldn't resist myself so I put it in 4th and caught upto them (left-most lane). Freeway was pretty empty so the silver one (pulled over to the right of the black one and floored it). I put it in 3rd and floored it. By this time the black one took off as well. Shifted into 4th and I was about 1 car ahead... pulled 4 cars in 4th gear and 2 cars in 5th gear before I realized I was going about 140mph! Slowed down and they both caught up... I kind of tried to cover the boost guage with my left hand (its lit when the lights are on). The two M3's just hung around a bit and then took off... I didn't follow.

Wonder what they thought about my stock exhaust tips and aptly described 'SUV-style' ride height

It's funny... NOBODY would race me when I was NA... now I seem to be getting all the races!!

Im not sure they were E46's cause Allmotor is putting about the same to the wheels as I am, w/my bigger shot, and i pull maybe a car on them from a roll.....either way nice kill, can you imagine running with your exhaust dropped, wow what a difference that would make....

I bet you had to visit your local surgeon to have that grin removed :-) Nice kill! One thing about M3s though. If you ever see a Dinan logo on the back of one, don't even bother, just pull over and let them pass :-).

German tuning shops are speed-freaks, but in a completely calm, civilized, coldly efficient way.

Were they E46s? If they were ... that's focking amazing. The E46 M3s gearing are 99.99% perfect, they pull in every gear up to their limit of 155! (I had my up to 160 while racing a SL500 ... speedo inconsistencies.)

:cheer:

They were E46's... no doubt about that.

Zootking: Not playing you down, but there is a big difference between NOS and Turbo in high gears (especially on the freeway under load). Wow.. you must be shooting a LOT of NOS to put over 340whp.... cuz I think with your 75shot, you were what.. 280'ish? Did you raise the bar to a 150 shot? What are you doing for detonation management?

The E46M3 pulled barely 3 cars on my while I was NA in 4th gear... so I don't see the big deal here.

Good Kill....You should be a good match for a slightly modded C5 6 speed.

BTW....Next time you race, keep 2 hands on the steering wheel.

Trust me... putting the hand to hide the boost guage was well after I slowed down. I have been racing for nearly 10 years... and I know the perils of not having control and/or concentration!

Cool....I just watch all these racing vids where these jokers are driving with one hand. I imagine that your car has some real bad torque steer??????

Honestly... if I had the money, I'd build a high-output 3.5L motor out of the CL and keep it NA. I think 320+ whp on a fully-built motor is possible - now, that'd be something!

The reason cars like the CL-S need extra high output (400+hp) to really do some damage to other cars and run good times is because of the weight disadvantage. Imagine a civic with 350whp... gutted out... that's low 11's or even a 10-second ET!!

I know you're not downplaying my NOS, but i thought you put only 317 to the wheels w/ your exhaust on....nice kill, i know it seems as if those M3's are all they're cracked up to be when you have the same amount of HP....our only problem would off the line, if you know what i mean....

oh yeah, w/ the 75shot i put 286 to the wheels, w/the 100 shot, i estimate @305 to the wheels.....but we shall see when i have a little extra to go back to the dyno

yeah suuuure and the hand brake was on too right? dayum send me some of the stuff you're smoking.

Wait wait, maybe you are telling the truth except maybe those 2 m3 drivers were laughing their ass off so hard when they saw a CL tried to race them. I know I do, everytime I see a car on the lesser class trying to race me I just let them "kill" me. Not worth wasting gas on racer wannabes

thats funny....."a car of a lesser class" thats a typical BMW owner...always thinking their cars are the shit. Dont get me wrong, i love the E46 M3, but if you think about it, they come with 333hp right? That means they are putting about 300 to the wheels (maybe even a little less cause i saw one put only 292 stock), so why shouldnt someone like, Allmotor, beat them if he puts 345HP to the wheels????Damn you BMW guys (with the exclusion of a few on this board) are ignorant sons a bitches....

Hehe.. thanks Zoot. I don't think he knew I was turbocharged... but anyways. It was 327whp with the stock exhaust and 345 without. The new M3 makes about 285 to 290whp...

So lemme know, if you have the balls let's go to the track (Road atlanta)

Sorry straight line acceleration is nothing these days, I could strap NOS to a school bus and eat you guys all day long.

hey dood, I'm just simply stating the fact. I DON"T RACE CAR LESSER THAN ME, why is that so hard to accept? Plus if you want to race take it to the track. Don't do it on the street!!!, I don't care if the CL can be tricked out to have 600 HP. Can you handle those horse power on the track? If not STFU and stop thinking bigger HP will always win. Have you heard about the Elise?

damn ignorant is bliss I guess

Do you go to every single car forum on the web and preach the same sh!t about not racing on streets? I'm serious, what’s the fascination with the CL?

road atlanta 22nd and 23rd this month, I'm gonna be there so come out and see my NSX and some of the fellow down there can confirm about my m3.

Let's put your cl on the track and maybe you guys will grow up and learn that HP is not the way to go on the track (where racing is SUPPOSED to take place, not the public ROAD!!)

Quick Reply: Twin M3 Kill :) :) :)
