Turning off AC

I know what your probably thinking, "This guy must be an idiot...", I know how to turn off the AC with the navi and yes also you can hit the OFF button. What I am curious about, is there a way to turn off the AC without the Navi or by using the OFF button? Why you ask? Also because there are times in which it's too cold or I wanna WOT and I just want air running with no AC on. Because when you got an address inputed into the Navi and then you press the AC button, it clears out the address so you would have to reenter the address again. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Yes, is does turn itself off at WOT. I did not think that you lost your address when you went to the AC.

No need to hit any button when you WOT. The ecu will automatically disable your a/c compressor to prevent burn out when you WOT although your a/c button and indicator will show that it is still on. The actual a/c clutch will be disengaged thus the compressor won't be spinning. A/C will automatically re-engage when you ease up the gas pedal.

That's exactly what I wanted to know! I recall mention of that, but when I tried it, I noticed that the indicators were still showing that the AC was on. Thank you! But a couple of questions: which you say WOT, does this include just flooring the car and/or ss or just ss or just flooring the car? Also how quick does the ecu disable the ac compressor? Does it do it once you hit a certain rpm or a certain speed or a certain acceleration method? Thanks!

Im not 100% sure on this one, but relatively certain the AC compressor is disabled by the ECU based on the line voltage of the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) the actual timing required to detect WOT is a fraction of a second, however the amount of time required for the AC compressor to engage its clutch to stop being a parasite for HP is around .25 - .50 second. If the zTPS is more then 80% open the ECU will understand that to be WOT. And No, the AC light will not turn off, just the compressor will disengage until you let off the pedal
