Actually, I have plenty of experience with Honda/Acura. Much more than with Ford.

Read your own paragraph above, but this time, keep in mind that "trips" are MUCH different than drive cycles.

3 consecutive "trips" could take just a few minutes.

What Honda/Acura's consider a 'trip' is a warm-up cycle. There's no use in arguing about the jargon here. The only way for me to prove this is to drive around without my cat... at least 2 cold-starts and warm-ups... and the light not coming on.

A "warm-up cycle" is also known as a drive cycle, as in your paragraph:

....if the fault does not recur within three or more sequential drive cycles after a DTC is set....

This can easily be proven with a scan tool. I've done it myself.
Well you sounded as though you didn't understand it.

You are so completely wrong. If the two cycles are identical it is quite possible that the code might not get set. But more than likely it would after a few starts. It is when the signals are way off is when a DTC gets set.

Additionally, many cars behave differently. Two previous GM vehicles would throw a code quite quickly when disconnecting the O2 sensor. However, pull it out of the exhaust stream and it would sometimes run for days without even a temporary code.

I have been monitoring engine output parameters for over ten years now and know very well what DTCs get set and when. I've even run scopes in the cars to monitor the O2 voltage against EGT readings. To do this I often removed sensors in favor of alternate sensors. Doing this I have set many trouble codes and am aware of what it takes. Primary fueling issues normally have immediate codes being set. Secondary emissions controls may take several start-up cycles before setting a MIL illuminating code. Now there might be temporary codes set on the first start up but not one to illuminate the MIL.

Allmotor, impressive time. I never thought i would see a CL-S in the 12's at 111 in traps. Did u try running the car on pump gas? Did u think about forging the pistons and rods and lower the C/R to say 8.9C/R so u can run 10-12psi?

I've been thinking about building a high-output motor... probably get 600-700whp with a built bottom-end and a high-output turbo - we'll see. You can ideally make over 1000whp, but that's overkill. 700whp at 20psi is doable with 9.5:1 compression forged pistons, forged rods, some head-work, a BIG turbo, a BIG intercooler, some BIG injectors and an engine-management system.

On pump-gas, the car made 345whp... so I am pretty sure at sea-level, it would hit 110mph traps on pump-gas. The reason for the race-gas was I was running 6.5psi and just got a little nervous about detonation. Running more than 5'ish psi on a high-compression motor just makes me nervous.

With the current setup and slicks (probably need a good clutch as well)... 12.5 - 12.6 easy!

Congrats allmotor!!!!

I'm sorry I missed it, I was supposed to hook up with the GTP boys on Saturday at Famoso but my family(wife and kids) all got sick. The GTP you raced was probably a buddy of mine. I know a few of them were running low 13s all the way up to the NA guys running low 15s. I heard the track was so packed they could only get 2-3 runs in during the 8 hours. Famosa is about 600 ft above sea level, so take that into account when you look at his times.

Again, congrats, that is one sweet CLS you have there!!!!

Hi all.

I was car 160 in the black GTP. But you ran a 13.430 at 109.95 with my run of 14.448 at 97.17. If it was you then you were car 201?

Anyway, I wanted to chat with you.

That was an awsome run you did. I thought you didnt want your time slip as I watched you pass the booth....LOL.

Yeah... I didn't see the booth!! That first run was crap... you can see my 60' being 2.233-whatever. Actually my 1/8th mile was slower than my NA time. The wait in line was just horrible!

You can thank that mustang kissing the wall for part of that wait. I heard you got that thing into the 12's. Very nice! That run I had with you was my best for the day. Did you laugh at our reaction times or what? My car lurched forward because I brought my tach up too high and when I looked up it was already green!

Oh well, it was my first time at a track. Got 3 runs in.

Very nice times Allmotor, I wish we could have run, we would have been a good race. I was in the black GTP on ET streets. I ran 13.1 and 13.0, it would have been very very close good job.

Yeah... night-time might be better but its too far for me!

My 60' was horrible as well.. first pass. Lowering the tire-pressure helped... also did all that rubber being laid down as the afternoon worked its way in.

That red mustang was quite annoying... could have gotten 4 runs in or more if that didn't happen. I think they didn't let a whole stream of lane 6-7 that time... just skipped us. The tech guy got a hold of me and said I can't run anymore because my helmet wasn't SNELL certified.. can you believe that! I just packed up and went home

Yep, we received pretty crappy service considering we (street cars) were the MAJORITY. Total B.S. that they stopped you from running, they didn't even check my helmet...Ohh yea, I pretty much got the same comment from tech inspection BTW "So you're pretty much all stock right? Watch out for those V8's " I burned the mustang 5.0 that I ran by 1.3 seconds, yea watch out indeed.

Hmm, maybe next time you're out on the track and i'm there I can lend you my slicks for a pass or two..what's your bolt pattern? I have 5 on 4.5...let me know, i'd love to see ya run mid 12's

Here are the Video's of Saturday's Test & Tune @ Famoso Raceway.

Quicktime 6.0 is required. (Sorenson 3 is the codec)
Download it here:
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone/

I'm sorry if I got some of the cars wrong. For Example, if it's not a WS6 and I named it a WS6. I'm sorry.

This is a fairly slow server. But when you are asking for someone to host 300MB of video with unlimited bandwidth, you take what you can get.

So special thanks for Joe (SloDrift) for the bandwidth and server space.

I would video more cars at Famoso if anyone want's their car on Video. I go to most of the Test & Tunes.

If anyone wants to take these video's and RE-HOST THEM ON THEIR SERVER. That's cool, sure would make thing run smoother.

Here is a quick run-down of each video.

Note: I don't know what everycar had. But I will give it a try.

I didn't know you were Turbo until after your first run.

Then I was like, whoa! wtf does that CL have?

That's why I video taped your car.

Same goes for the GTP guys. When I seen that GTP go 13.0@110 I was like wtf. . .

No one is safe on the streets anymore.

Civic's, CL's, GTP's, Chevy trucks, ect. are fast now.

Cool Ryan, I was going to ask you if you got any of his runs on video. Now at least I didn't miss everything at Famoso.
