Turbo Timeslip.... guess what! :)
I hit a 12.930 @ 111.87 on my 3rd and final pass. There were a
LOT of people out there (muscle cars) and they have just laid out a brand new track, so my first two passes were awful. 13.4 @ 110, 13.1 @ 111. The car just rips after the 1/8-mile...hence the high mph. My first pass netted a 330' that was worse than my NA 13s run!! But finished at 10mph greater, so I knew 12's was very possible.
60' was 2.036
I lowered my tire pressure to 17psi for the last pass. My first 60' was 2.236!!
I took my exhaust out completely (its pretty darn heavy!), upped the boost to 6.5psi and used 103-octane unleaded fuel (just a safety precaution - VP Motorsport 103). Didn't run a catalytic convertor either... just downpipe and the two O2 sensors.
Famoso raceway is not at sea-level, so I figure about a 1/10 to 2/10 improvement at sea-level. I was very tempted to try slicks, but was scared of breaking something... so I stuck to my Nitto's.
I seriously think it was putting down at least 365whp...!!

No way on street tires! TypeR is on the ball... 16" tl's with the Nitto's.
They wouldn't let me run after the 12s pass. Some shit about my helmet not being SNELL certified! I always wear a helmet for safety reasons... no matter what my E.T is. I really think its just to hassle the imports.
The damn tech guy looked into my hood, then looks at me and says, "I see its pretty much a stock car... have fun, just don't line up against a chevy!"

Way to go Ramanan. That is awesome and a better trap than I was expecting to see. That car is moving very well and deserving of the work you put into it.

Congrats...and with a higher trap than I....you definitely deserve it with all the time and money invested ....now im gonna be the 2nd CL to hit 12's I guess

OMG!!! Is that a high trap speed!!! Damn man, CONGRATS on a feat that many of us wouldn't have the balls to do!!! Simply amazing!! What I suggest you do is get that thing tuned man!!! I don't know if Hondata is out or even if the AEM unit is available for your car, but me being an R owner has seen miracles with the power of tuning. Look at the Supra owners; they PRAISE the AEM. Some have gotten around 80+ hp from tuning. Next I would suggest a mild port and polish to the head; a high flow intake manifold, a custom exhaust (hytech obviously), a cat, and finally the Apex-i AVC-R. This thing is amazing! You can select how much boost you want in each gear; perfect for street/track/drag trim. BTW, how is the lag, how quickly does the turbo spool, and at what rpm do you get full boost??

I don't usually follow these types of mods..but man, I must give you credit where credit is due!
Fantastic job and the custom work! You are truely a person who has done something that is worthy of mention. Keep up the good work and I know this CLS6 speed is a great car even if it's discontinued...hope everyone else sees the potential in this car!
Congrats :-)

Congrats Allmotor on great runs that shows what a few mods make our CL's capable of! What rpm were you able to launch your car at?! With that much hp. would imagine your tires are spining unless fairly low launch rpm!? Wow! with slicks you could be turning mid 12's!!!

From the dyno results, I was expecting around 110-112 in terms of traps, although at the altitude I was running at (in Bakersfield), I figured 1-2 mph slower. I think removing some added weight helped (complete exhaust, spare-tire) as well as 1psi more boost and the 100-octane. The time probably isn't a fair representation of a 'streetable' CL-S, where a 13.2 should reflect the daily-use potential of the car.
I think it is very possible to run mid 12's in the car with slicks and a track that has a lot of rubber laid down.
Like importtuner mentioned... the AEM ECU would be able to maximize the power-output of the car and make it very safe and reliable as well. It's about a $1200 + $800 (injectors and other sensors) that I can't make right now. This would make this make this whole project out of hand... it has already nearly gotten out of hand already!
If someone buys the kit from me, they can easily add the necessary mods to do this!
