Turbo CL-S Drive Review
Well, I got to take one of the turbo CL's for a test drive over the weekend. It was blueCLS6's car. All I have to say is, "WOW!!" You still have the same torque at low rpm's as a non-turbo CL, which is nice. Once you get to about 3500rpm's, the turbo wants to play. He let me get on it in second gear, so I gave it just over half throttle. Once it hits about 4500 rpm's, the tires start to spin. That's what happens when you have that much power in a front-wheel drive car. Despite that fact, the car is still very responsive. He did a really good job at matching that turbo so that it wouldn't take forever for the turbo to spool up. It happens pretty quickly, but the turbo doesn't die off once you get to higher revs. In fact, it has power all the way up top as well. One thing that is nice that keeps with the CL being somewhat of a luxury car is that the power delivery is smooth and not hard. Don't get me wrong, you can totally feel the boost come up, but that car is soooo smooth in its power delivery. As long as you don't floor it and control the throttle, first gear is still fun and so is second gear. On the freeway you ask? Forget about it. That car has no problem passing cars in the passing lane . On a side note, it's fun seeing a boost gauge in a CL-S! There are just two minor things that are going to be dealt with, but I have to say...for a car that wasn't built with a turbo, he did an awesome job putting all of this together with almost no problems at all. The are not huge problems. He put everything on, drove it from L.A. to the Bay Area with no problems and was able to show it off to me and a couple other friends/family. Just a testimate to what an engineer is capable of doing with a little motivation.
p.s. sorry about how I drove your car, your clutch is wierd

Glad you enjoyed the drive. Thanks for letting me sport the WRX around too . That car handles on rails compared to the boat CL. Anyway you'll find if you really get on it, unlike rolling into the throttle like we were, you'll have full boost at a mere 2700rpm or so. I'm still pissed that my clutch was slipping going into 3rd so we couldn't get that race in. Your car is really quick ( > 4500rpm ). Anyhow thanks for the props on the turbo, and of course I can't mention the kit without again thanking allmotor_2000 for his input and knowledge in it's design. THANKS MAN!! I love the car!
p.s. needs to be tuned a little

I saw it at the Pleasanton Meet. The installation looked like it came from CompTech, if CompTech made a T/C kit. Also, I liked how he relocated the battery to the trunk. It really looked like it belonged there.
