I hear that due to low sales, and demand, Acura will be discontinuing the CL line. This is to make space for the 400hp, 4 banger, hybrid car, that will be released sometime next year. The fax that was sent to the dealer says that the top speed is an estimated 195mph. THIS IS WHAT I HAVE HEARD, DON'T RIP MY HEAD OFF!!!

 

If something like this comes out on the Acura line I'll eat my shoe.

I think you may be referring to the DNX concept car (see that monthly mag put out by Acura). I don't see any way this will happen as a replacement for the CL-S (or NSX for that matter).

 

I would trade my CL-S straight across for this 4-banger

 

if it's gonna be a hybrid, it'll prolly be ugly as FUK! all cars like that are all ugly: hybrid, electric. all nasty. ill stick with my gas only powered 225hp cl for another couple of years.

 

You're thinking of the electric cars. Hybrids look perfectly normal, like the Civic hybrid and Gold TDI, they just happen to have and electric motor, in addition to the gas one, which helps out at higher speeds.

 

400 hp out of a 4 banger?? is that even possible??? those would have to be some huuuuuuge cylinders

 

Porsche has squeezed out 300+ from theirs. Just it's not N/A.

400HP from a honda 4cyl would probably have like 90 ft/lbs of torque. heheheh j/k

 

I have also heard that Acura will possibly discontinue the CL. But not to make room for another car, just simply because it doens't sell very well.

If they decided to discontinue the CL, I'd bet we'll see a 6 speed version of the "new" TL......

 

I'm not interested in a boring 4 door family sedan............I have NO need for a 4 door car, if that is the case, ACURA/HONDA loses a long term customer !

nope according to the acura mag, its a 300 HP 3.5L 6 cyl and a 100 HP Electric Motor. If i find the mag ill do some scans?...

 

Yeah your right. I think the car is called the DualNote. The engine is a 3.5L DOHC i-VTEC V6 good for 300 HP, with a 100HP Integrated Motor Assist. Maybe the engine will be put into the next TL??

 

It was a V-6 hybrid that produces 400hp.. Acura D-NX prototype.
